I went here for drinks. They have very reasonably priced wine, and a great patio. The beer selection is pretty large. It's a pub but has several TVs with sports games on. It would be family friendly at a reasonable hour. The service is pretty fast for a pub. They were pretty packed but no wait. The staff wears kilts... It is what it is. Also if you want free entertainment sit on the patio next to the exit. The gate is magnetic... And you will have fun all night watching people try to figure it out.

The Dingle House Irish Pub is located in West Chester. My friend lives in Dayton & I live in Cincinnati so it was a great mid point for us. I found it interesting that the exterior decor does not match the interior. Outside it seems more "modern" but when you walk in you can tell you're in a pub. All the staff were kilts and it has a rustic pub feel. All the staff were great! We started at the bar & the bartender was helpful as we decided on what draft beer we wanted. They have a nice variety of choices & she let us try some before making a decision. We sat outside for 15 minutes without anyone coming out which was interesting but once we went back in service was stellar! I ordered the turkey avocado sandwich with sweet potato fries and it was just ok. The turkey wasn't as warm as I expected & the bread was nothing to special. The sweet potato fries were good but tasted like the came frozen & weren't fresh. Lastly, as a black woman I find I'm ALWAYS in places where I'm the only black person & this Friday night was no different. I felt nothing but warm, inviting and great vibes from staff but twice I got interesting & rude looks from other customers. My friend who I was with is a white male. I think other customers might have assumed we were together & didn't like a potentially interracial couple. I can't be certain that's why I got funny looks but both my friend and I thought it was likely the reason. Even so, I'd still go back, for their beer selection and friendly staff!

I went for drinks about 3 PM on a Friday after a long week. Five of use sat outside and were ready to relax. Our server was grouchy, inattentive and had enough make up for five people. The servers inside were putting silverware in napkins and were just as miserable as the one serving us. Woe is this place. When I got home I farted until my dingleberries became loose.

Dingle house is awesome. They have a great beer and whiskey selection. Happy hour is decent. The fish and chips are delicious, the reuben is one of the best around, and their sweet potato fries are fantastic. The inside is large but feels cozy, and the patio is awesome in the summer time. All inall, one of my favorite Irish pubs.

As stop #2 on our CincyCon tour, Jules and I decided to try Dingle House for dinner on the Friday night before our convention games started. As we could expect with any pub on a Friday night, Dingle House was packed wall to wall. As we entered, there was a group of 50+ staked out in an entire wing of the bar; Jules and I were astounded, though, to be seated at a wonderful outdoor patio table with no wait whatsoever. Woot! Looking at several of the other reviews here on Yelp, it seems as though several people have had problems with the service at Dingle House. While our service was somewhat slow, it was well within expectations on a busy Friday night during dinner-rush. Even as it was, we were still served fairly quickly and no mistakes were made with our order. Jules opted for a fish sandwich and one of the bar's numerous on-tap specialties, while I chose the Irish lamb stew. We also began with an order of buffalo-wings, as we were both ravenous from a long workweek. The buffalo-wings--which we got with a garlic-buffalo sauce--were properly cooked: tender, but still crisp on the outside without excess breading or the like. I could have done with a touch more heat in the sauce, but the garlic flavor did not suffer for the lack of heat. My stew, though, was the absolute highlight. Served with a few pieces of crusty garlic bread, the stew was hearty, with a broth that gloriously accentuated the sweetness of the carrots and peas within the stew. The stew was a bowl of umami goodness that was *exactly* what I wanted that night. Utterly fantastic. I'd definitely look forward to another visit to Dingle House, though I'd like to see what it's like when it's a little quieter. Even as is, though, it's worth a go!

The steak was perfectly done. Mashed potatoes were excessively garlic flavored. Service was friendly and attentive.

The food was awful. There is nothing Irish about this food - its your basic disappointing americanized pub food. I know most people don't think of Irish food as great cuisine, but I've been to Ireland, they make some incredible food and are all about locally sourced, fresh ingredients. This is not that. At all.

I've been here a few times, and as Irish Pubs go, this one's decent but not the best. Good beer selection, although all the times I've visited, they've been out of a few I wanted to try. Food is pretty good, but they have the WORST fried pickles I've ever eaten anywhere. Thin slices, tempura battered and fried. Not good. All the appetizers I've gotten have been heavy on grease. Service is typically good, with friendly girls in little kilts running the floor. Happy Hour can be crammed, but the patio gives you a bit of breathing room if you prefer a quieter space. It's fine for about an hour-long stay, but not at the top of my after-work lists.

The Dingle House is a great spot for a number of occasions. I happen to work in West Chester, so I typically find myself here for lunch or happy hour. The food is decent, but noting to write home about. I am a fan of their pretzel bites, although I need to have a conversation with the manager about the fact that they started putting mustard on top of their beer cheese. I had quite the surprise when I was expecting cheese and got mustard. (I'm not a fan of mustard) The beer selection on the other hand is what brings me back time after time. They rotate their taps frequently and the staff is very knowledgeable when it comes to the beer selection. They offer a couple of "frequent flyer" cards including a lunch punch reward. The other program is based on the total dollar amount of your tab and can be redeemed for ANYTHING, including your bar tab. Ask your waiter about them, as they are not something mentioned with every meal. PS. Get the wedges.

Five stars for the beer list, 3 for food. The Dingle House is a great place to grab a beer with friends. They have an extensive list of beers on tap and the bartenders are knowledgeable and attentive. There is a lot of bar space and there are also a lot of tables in the restaurant. The food offerings are decent but nothing special. This location is definitely worth a stop if you are in the mood for a beer.

This is a nice pub with quality food and several beer selections. The bartenders are very knowledgeable on the beers which is nice when trying something new. Food is great and service is friendly and attentive. They also have a nice patio area with live music. Nice place. Just try it!

Great food and friendly staff! I got the Reuben and fried pickles which were fantastic! They have seasonal lobster rolls but I wouldn't waste your Money on that. It was decent and different from the usual lobster roll due to the lack of mayo and the addition of lime but the lobster was not very fresh. Have yet to try the beer but will soon!

We find that as we travel it's sometimes hard to find a place to have a pint or two and a good meal. If you're anywhere near and even if your not, The Dingle House is just where you'll want to be! The staff are friendly and check on you often enough without being pushy. The food is served up hot and quick yet is flavorful and fresh.

This has become my favorite place to eat in all of Cincinnati. I've been there numerous times and have yet to have a negative experience in any way. First off, the service. We typically sit at the bar, which is what everyone should do if a seat is open, and drink our day away. You can get a sampler of numerous beers if you wish to try a lot of different brews without getting quite tipsy. The beer selection is quite varied, although I was disappointed the last time I was there and they didn't have a traditional pale ale on the beer menu. That aside, they have an amazing beer selection ranging from stouts, IPA's, lagers, reds, to specialized sub-brews within more common types. To say the food is great is an understatement. When I was visiting they were offering all you can eat fish and chips on Mondays. And it was probably the best fish and chips meal I've ever had. The fish was cooked perfectly and the fries are just fantastic! I've also ordered the shepherd's pie. Albeit I think it is a little light on the portion size, the flavor is amazing. They do offer an outdoor patio to sit in the beautiful weather as well. We sat outside the last time we went, and it was beautiful weather. We got to meet some new people there and had a good time interacting with a couple different tables. The Dingle House just has an amazing atmosphere. Also...I was highly impressed that the bartender heard me mention I loved soccer so she changed the channel so I could watch some Champions League action. THE BEST!!! Can't wait to go back.

The Dingle House is a neat little place amongst all the chain restaurants lining Union Boulevard. It's one of our go-to restaurants when we have visitors--something we know people will like but somewhat unique to the area. As a restaurant, the Dingle House is pretty great. Service is friendly and fairly fast even on busy nights, and the food is tasty. If you order nothing else, get the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer! It's our favorite thing on the menu and we get it every. single. time. Entree-wise, my favorite dish is the pastrami sandwich which comes on a pretzel bun with coleslaw and spicy mustard. The fries are good, but I usually swap them for a house salad--spring mix, golden raisins, walnuts, bleu cheese and balsamic vinaigrette. Maybe it's weird to rave about a salad, but it's delicious and huge as side salads go. The "Irish fare" seems to be pretty good too. The shepherd's pie is tasty but you may find it a bit small as others have mentioned; the bangers & mash are better! Oh, and if you have any room left for dessert, the Bailey's creme brulee is worth a try. Despite my love for the food, I cannot give the Dingle House a fifth star for one reason: the beer is terrible. Yes, they've got a huge selection and lots to choose from. However, every single time I've ordered a beer on tap (Guinness, Yeungling, Breckenridge Vanilla Porter, it doesn't matter) it has been watery and flat. I've never tasted beer so bad anywhere else. After several bad experiences I've made it a point to only order from the bottled menu...but even that isn't safe because I once got a bottle that was partially frozen. It's really disappointing that we've got a pub in West Chester with such a great variety of beer that somehow gets ruined before it gets to your table. Management, if you're reading this, please look into the beer situation. I'd definitely be a more frequent customer if I could get a rich frothy Guinness with my delicious food.

Went here only to use a coupon and was very pleased. Fish was delicious, appetizers were great and beer selection was on par. My friend also enjoyed his meal. Only reason I gave it four stars was the loud atmosphere. But now I know to expect that.

Had lunch here, and it was ok. Wife had a chicken salad and I had quesadilla. Nothing special but service was efficient if not cheerful. They do appear to have a really extensive selection of beer -- which makes sense because it is, after all, a pub.

Best bar in West Chester! Friendly staff, good food, big TVs, outdoor seating, and LIVE MUSIC on Friday's! See you at the pub!

A very warm and friendly saloon type atmosphere. They have a great selection of draught and bottled craft beers to choose from and a nice list that explains more details. The menu is somewhat standard pub grub. There is something for everyone whether you want pulled pork, fish or a veggie burger. Their sweet potato fries are sugar coated and pretty good. I left there feeling quite full and satisfied.

The Dingle House was A-OK. You walk in and it's your typical Irish Pub maybe a little cleaner. There is a cute fireplace in the back. The crowd here seemed to be older business type men which was odd. The beer selection is great. Everyone with us seemed to be satisfied with their brews. The menu is quite large with everything from salads, to burgers, to steak. I ordered the potato soup. It was nothing special, needed salt and pepper, but it was nice on a cold day. I also ordered a half salad with chicken which was still HUGE. So beware. The regular salad was 12.99? That is just crazy to me for a salad. My boyfriend got the $5 burger for burger night and although there was nothing wrong with it, there was really nothing good about it either. It was just very basic and plain. You can't get a regular burger off the menu for $5 you can just get the regular "pub burger" I think is what it is called. I probably wouldn't come running back here, but if I was in the area I would rather spend my money here than any of the other chains in the surrounding this area.

We went at dinner hour on a Saturday night and were pleasantly surpirsed we got a table within 15 minutes of our arrival. Drinks I thought were a little too pricey but not horrible. We all had something different as well as an appetizer and soup- not a drop left on any plates! We tried the fried pickes and were a little concerned with the slices but they were excellent- Seafood Chowder-great. Dinner Salads were plentiful and my portion of grilled salmon was enormous! Bangers and Mash about par for the course as well as the Shepherds Pie. Server was great and attentive. Would definitely return! All and all a good dinner at a friendly place.

It's a great feeling to simultaneously check a restaurant off my list while enjoying it at the same time. I waited way too long to give this place a try. Friendly attentive servers, a diverse promising menu, tasty food that delivered. I enjoyed the fish tacos with some side volcano sauce (just a hot sauce) and sweet potato fries. The fries were so perfect and sweet. The fish tacos came in three and were heavy-handed portions! The bean/pineapple/corn relish was the cherry on top.

This review is very difficult for me. It's hard for me to keep my personal biases separated from my actual experiences. I was a regular at Dingle House for nearly 5 years, but due to some staffing changes, I thought I would never return. Their food is good. Not great, not bad. Just good. Their sandwiches are filling, and unique. Their Irish fare is nothing special, but ample. The shepherd's pie is very hit or miss. Sometimes it is exceptional, others it tastes like it came from a box. The salmon is one of the best I've had in Cincinnati - and I'm comparing it to some of the nicest restaurants in town. Must tries: loaded pub wedges, salmon, reuben, and reuben flatbread. Steer clears: shepherd's pie, wings, and cheese sticks (not worth the price you pay). The service is standard. You know what to expect when 90% of the serving staff is female: chatter, gossip, and general lethargy. All of which will affect your service and therefore your experience. You'll typically get great service at the bar. Jeff, Jesse, Christian, and Olivia will take care of you. I've only ever had bad service there once; however, I was a regular and usually had the same server each time. I've had friends who could logically complain about their service, though, so I've heard about it from the other side. In summation, you will probably have a good time here, but be prepared for subpar service until they can clean up the staff. Plenty of TVs and entertainment. If you make a friend here, you should be surprised.

I think if you keep in mind that Irish pubs are only found IN IRELAND, you will enjoy the Dingle House much more. I've found this to be a great pub atmosphere and the Irish/British inspired decor really works well. The dark wood, stone arch, rustic furniture, yes the mismatched chairs too. And your silverware goes right on the table top, no placemats. The location and the building exterior are in fact dismal ( soulless suburban business park) BUT, get in here! When the doors close behind you and you settle down with a pint and start soaking up that pub feel, you really forget the scene outside. Honestly, you'll get the sensation you're in a neighborhood, somewhere.... A big, curving bar with taps galore is the central focus as you walk in. As you approach you'll pass through an area with some rather quaintly styled round high tops that might seat 3, plus there are counters with stools running along the walls as another seating option. Ahead on left is the main dining area which is divided into several sections, in such a way that the place feels spacious yet cozy. Here too you'll see the big chalkboard with all the current beers listed. At your right's the hostess' stand, which is set up a little awkwardly in that her back is to the door when she needs to use her workstation, and there is not necessarily always a hostess depending in the time of day; and when there is one, you may find her somewhat abrupt and not overly welcoming. Maybe this is due to the odd positioning where she has to keep looking over her shoulder. If you come at a busy time and want table service, venture boldly into her line of vision, smile and say, "can we seat ourselves, or....?" Don't let a possible uncomfortable hostess experience sour you. Traditionally, I don't think pubs are even supposed to HAVE hostesses. The menu includes of course many dishes which pay homage to the cuisine of the UK & Eire.... But you can get standard American style grub too, and do check out the seasonal specials. Summer's menu had a Greek theme, and i quite enjoyed the chicken kebob platter. The chili is good (not typical Cincinnati) and the pastrami on pretzel bun is excellent. I agree with other Yelpers that you need to season up the food here, though, with one wondrous exception.... The Seasoned Potato Wedges. Oh so flavorful, dreamy soft inside. No French fries on the menu! But with these wedges you won't miss them. We've been here a few times for tableservice meal. Service is standard for a pub. The bar experience, however, has always been top notch. More than once we opted to eat at the bar. Often we will just stop in to relax for 45 minutes or so over a couple of pints. The bartenders are friendly and talented, they have printed lists of beer and wine, and will gladly and generously give samples. (They'll even let you sample food sometimes!) And I can't complete this review without a few words about the kilts. It's just another cool tribute to yet another part of the UK. It's a rip to see the kilted men, and they are very good humored about it. The girls of course wear mini-kilts, but I do not consider that they look slutty at all. The skirts aren't tight, and its not like they are wearing hot pants. They're in costume! Be sure to read the story of the place printed on their menu, including how they got their furnishings as well as the explanation behind "dingle." To sum up: it's not a chain. It's not a sports pub. It's got a fun unique theme that sets it apart. And they've done a good job; it does not at all look like one of those places built from an "Irish bar kit" in a box! Outstanding beer selection. Decent food, some items quite good. Not your choice strictly for a dining experience, but a great choice for a pub experience. And men in kilts.

    (4)
  • Lia V.

The kilts just throw me off. Nobody in Ireland actually walks around wearing kilts all the time - especially not slutty short ones and especially not working at a bar. I think it's tacky. Other than that the food is fine. It's a dark pub feeling atmosphere. Great big outside eating area. Stumbling distance (hard to find in West Chester). Good place to go for beers and sit on the patio.

I am surprised that I haven't reviewed this place yet as it's one of our suburban favorites. We have spent many meals and nights drinking at Dingle House and have never been disappointed. The restaurant is nice and often has live music, which can be too loud at times. There is a small, but lovely, patio that is perfect in the summer. There are both shaded and unshaded seats, giving you a variety of options. Their food is good and has always tasted fresh. Their cheese sauce for fries, chicken fingers, etc is especially delicious! I haven't had their Irish fare (I'm a picky eater) but others have seemed to enjoy it. Service is generally friendly but can be hit or miss as far as attentiveness. I do appreciate that most of their servers are familiar with their beer selection and able to offer up suggestions. That brings me to the best part of Dingle House: beer. The selection is large and diverse. I like that they have beer lists on all the tables and also have it written on a large chalkboard so that it is simple to order. They now list beer prices on their menu, complete with the happy hour price. No surprises here! I would like to think they read Yelp reviews and saw others suggesting having the prices listed. Another great aspect of Dingle House is that they allowed me to bring Arlene, my cat, onto the patio. I called ahead and asked if they allowed pets on their patio and they said yes. They were quite shocked, but friendly, when I showed up with a cat on a leash! They were extremely nice to her and even gave her a bowl of water without me having to ask. It's the little things like that small gesture of thoughtfulness that keep me coming back!

This was a convenient spot for a suburban dinner that a friend suggested because she'd heard of it, but never been. The experience was simply a-ok. Not remarkable, not unremarkable. The menu was more diverse and larger than I expected, the beer list was great, and our service was attentive. I was kind of shocked at how busy they were late into the evening during the week. It was in fact, an excellent place to meet with plenty of parking and easy to find, and they can accommodate large groups.

    (3)
  • Rick J.

Largest selection of draft beer in West Chester, at least 30 on tap. Another 40-50 in bottles. Irish fare, burgers, sandwiches, and American entrees on the menu. A little bit of something for everyone's pallet. Live music on Friday nights, plenty of TVs, and friendly staff that is more than accommodating.

I'm going to start with the bad and then get to the good. I'd give this place a solid 2 stars for food. It wasn't bad but it was disappointing. I had the Kildare meatloaf which would have been tasty had it been warm all the way through to the center. It seemed like it was made last night and then re-heated on the grill. My friends ordered the bangers & mash and were not thrilled with the sausages (verdict: They were bland). However, we all agreed that the mashed potatoes and gravy were very tasty. Hopefully, we just caught the kitchen on an "off" lunch. Now, I'm going to give our server 4 stars. She was just plain great; attentive and quick with our food/drinks/checks. Oh, I should say that this place has a decent beer selection so that should go into the "plus" column. So, I averaged my score and gave them a 3. Not terrible but not great either. They are Ikea-adjacent so there's that.

So this was my first time here for a book club meeting and it was okay. It seem pretty huge with lots of room for a crowd. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was kinda empty which was fine for our meeting. I ordered a BLT sandwich lunch size and it was really good. I am a true bacon eater so there were plenty of bacon on my sandwich that I could not complain. I would definitely get it again if I go back. And the reason why I may not frequent this place is due to being in West Chester which is kinda far from my spot in Covington, but I never mind traveling to find some new places. I did enjoy it and the thick potato wedges. For the drink selection I am not a beer drinker at all. I have tried it on several occasions and I still come back to the fact that I just don't like it. But for the beer drinkers out there, you would probably really dig this place. You will have a ton of options to choose from, from local to far which should please ya. I like ciders so thankfully they had Strongbow on tap and Crispin in a bottle. I chose my Strongbow and was pretty content.

Still horrible! We stopped here our first trip to cincinati prior to moving a year and a half ago and the service was terrible and the beer tasted off. Year and a half later the service is better but the food was absolutely terrible and the beer tasted like the lines are never cleaned. What a waste of money, we will never go back

Great beer selection. Food - It was middle of the road. - Blarney Burger: Fairly good but a little dry. - Cheese sticks: I really liked these. - Chili: The large portion of sour cream they add makes your chili quite chilly. - Crab Cake: Nothing Special. - Potato Wedges: Very good. - Pasta Salad: Completely void of any flavor whatsoever. The servers and staff are awesome. Kind of a hipster crowd but it is a bit mixed. Usually some form of music on the weekends. It can be a bit loud. Not obnoxious but loud. Would I go back? Yes. For late night food and/or drinks. For a dinner or lunch - maybe not so fast. Especially in that area with all of the restaurant choices that are available.

From what I experienced, Dingle House is a pub, not a dinner spot. Ambiance: TVs...everywhere. That part is fine, I wanted to watch the game. If you're looking to keep the attention of the people you're with, good luck. Also, The waitresses all wear short "kilts." Think Hooters, but with short skirts. Service: Good, quick, and attentive. Granted it was expected since about only 3 other tables were full when the time we went. The food also came out really quick, which is fine since it probably doesn't take long to fry some fish and make a shepherd's pie. Food: This is where it goes down hill. I got the fish and chips. It is part of their "Irish" menu and something they bold a lot on their menu. The fish and chips also comes with coleslaw. The slaw is drenched in the dressing. Every bite I had was about 3/4 dressing and 1/4 slaw. I may be exaggerating a little, but hopefully you get the point. The slaw itself wasn't too bad, but it would be a whole lot better if it was swimming in the dressing. The fries were hot and thick. Crispy on the outside..and...good on the inside? I'm not sure how to describe the center of steak cut fries, but they were good. Now the fish... I got one large sized steak of their haddock. When they say huge, it is probably the size of 2-3 normal fried strips of fish. The haddock itself wasn't bad, the problem I had was with the batter. It almost tasted like I was eating a stick of butter. Half a day later it still feels like I ate a stick of butter, I just didn't taste much of anything else with the batter. The other bad part about the fish is I now have a huge grease spot on my pants where i dropped it...but that's not the reason Dingle House gets two stars. If you come here for a meal, try to reconsider, the food is just alright and fairly pricey for the lack of flavor. The beer is also fairly expensive, $4.00 for a bud light. If you want to come and watch a game and have a beer or look at waitresses in short skirts, give this place a try. Otherwise I wouldn't suggest coming.

One of the only places open on Christmas Eve in West Chester Ohio. Freezing cold outside. Toasty warm in here. So many beers on tap it was hard to decide. So many yummy looking foods on the menu again, hard to decide. We settled on a couple of appetizers, a salad, and shepherds pie. All very good. Ruben flatbread was interesting and I actually pretty tasty. I go back again if I found myself in this neck of the woods.

Needed something besides all the chain crap bars/pubs near our hotel!! I would definitely return next time in town. I had the Cuban and sweet potato fries. Normally I'm not a fan of sweet potato fries, but this time I was pleasantly surprised. The beer selection is staggering and the bartender provided sampling glasses since I was on the fence of a few brews.

The food was terrible, the staff was slow but the drinks were a nice selection. If you want a below average meal, look no further. Go for the beer selection and that's it. The servers are attractive but they are not very good.

a date night gone wrong. i don't often issue 1-star reviews, but methinks this one deserves it. the stars may have aligned to provide the worst possible date experience, so i'll try to stick to the facts and let you decide for yourself. -1 for weird restaurant name. that's all. +1 for location. if you happen to already be in the 'burbs, the dingle house is located right in the heart of union center. about a minute from I-75. +1 for lots of nearby parking. you may have to walk around the building. -1 for noise. when my date and i walked in, we were surprised to be slammed by a wall of noise. i don't know whether it was the acoustics of the large eating area, or if people were actually loud, but this was considerably louder than your typical pub setting. +0 for lots of eating space inside. on one hand, lots of space is a good thing. on the other, it makes the restaurant seem very corporate. -1 for the over-use of kilts. i saw one dude rocking a Utilikilt, which was funny. all of the female staff were apparently required to wear tiny kilts. (let's forget for a moment that ladies in ireland don't wear kilts.) even so, these kilts were distastefully skimpy. nice job keeping it classy... +0 for average pub-type atmosphere. on one hand, lots of wood (colored) decor. on the other, it seemed overly plastic. +1 for having a nice outdoor seating area, where we sat. -1 for having a dirty, sticky table when we were seated. it hadn't been completely bussed. -1 for taking considerable time for our waitress to notice us. when she did, she bothered to pick up the previous patron's check, but not to clean off the table. +0 for typical pub menu. prices were slightly high. -1 for being short-staffed. servers around us were so rushed that i can't really blame them much for being so forgetful. this is a management problem. -1 for taking 10 minutes to bring us our waters. -1 for taking 25 minutes to bring us our appetizer (fried pickles). +1 for above-average fried pickles. they were flat long-wise slices, instead of typical quartered spears. -1 for not keeping our beverages filed. my glass spent most of its time empty. -1 for taking over 30 minutes to bring us our burgers--and only after we asked our server to check on our food. -1 for bad burgers. we both ordered them medium, but received them well-done. they were dry, tasteless, and (again), plastic. i rarely leave meat on my plate, but i couldn't stomach finishing the burger. +0 for decent pub fries. i thought they tasted pretty good, but that may have been only in comparison to the bad burgers. my date didn't like the fries. -1 for atmosphere outside. a drunk guy nearby spilled beer and ran into my date's chair. -1 for terrible live music outside. i'm usually fairly sympathetic to local artists, but it was clear that nobody was enjoying the music. my date and i couldn't take it, so we tried to leave ASAP. he was too loud, flat, his guitar not tuned, and a not-very-entertaining personality. -1 for not enforcing the state smoking policy. we were seated on the outer fence of the patio, and several times thorough the evening, someone would step outside the fence and smoke. this is fine, except that they were smoking 3 feet away from our table. seriously? if i could have gotten the manager's attention, i would have asked him about it. -1 for having stomach issues later that evening. i can't prove anything, but it makes me wonder since the last meal i ate was at the dingle house. i tipped well since most of our problems were not our server's fault. in fact, i feel bad that she was forced to carry so many tables. if management wants to improve the "plastic" nature of this restaurant, then management really needs to make some considerable changes. i do not recommend this place. in fact, i'd recommend avoiding it. however, maybe you'll have better luck than we did. as for my girl and i, we've had our fill of plastic pubs. we won't return.

It's refreshing to find something that is not a chain located in West Chester. That being said, I did get lost in the corporate complex trying to find the pub. There's something about miles of identical grey buildings that disturbs me. Walking inside, the environment was a surprise: stone walls, cherrywood tables, Celtic music, and servers wearing kilts (yes, even the men.) It reminded me of an Irish Hofbräuhaus. For dinner, we each had the fish n' chips. A huge platter came out with a plank of crisp, battered cod, seasoned potato wedges, and coleslaw. Delicious and right on par with what I desire from an Irish Pub. I also had the Lindeman's Frambroise. It's a beer for the non-beer drinker, as it tastes more like a sparkling raspberry cider. They also carry a seasonal peach flavor, but raspberry is the best. Lindeman's is expensive: $7.50 for a bottle. The downside to Dingle House? Their beer menu doesn't list the prices, so you don't find out the damage until your bill arrives. It was also loud, very LOUD. Not because of the crowd, but because of the music, especially when the live Celtic band showed up. I couldn't hear our conversation from across the table. Price per person (entree, 2 beers): $30.00

I've gone here a number of times - not my favorite spot, but definitely not my least favorite either. The decor of the place is somewhat homey, but the amount of televisions the place has turns it from a traditional English/Irish pub to more of an American sports bar, so if it's quiet you're looking for, you won't find it here. I can't remember a time where I had a bad experience with service at the Dingle House - even when it's crowded, food has gotten to us relatively quickly and drink orders are often perfect. Speaking of drinks, Dingle House has a very nice variety of beers and is often cycling in different brews according to the seasons. As for the food, it's your typical English/Irish pub grub, so outside of a few salads, expect a lot of hearty/heavy eats. Their Irish stew isn't bad, but there's never been a time where I've been blown away by their food. Good place to stop by for drinks after a movie at the Rave or the like, but if you're looking for a bite, there's a number of better places in the area.

Cool little hangout. Wish it was a little bigger. The crowd is a little older, which I don't mind at all. They should hand out free kilts to regulars.

Went last Saturday night after not visiting for quite some time and was reminded why I had not been in any hurry to patronize The Dingle House. First and foremost, the place is loud. LOUD. The clientele is smelly, like a big cheap floozy. The live music that evening was reminiscent of Marty and Bobbie Culp. Their spirited rendition of a Black Eyed Peas song had us gasping for air. There may be televisions? I don't recall. The place was so loud and smelly, I could barely see straight. Dingle House's saving grace? Beer selection. They have an extensive draught line-up (think The Pub at Rookwood) and I have gladly enjoyed a pint or two (ha!) of their Rogue offering or Young's Double Chocolate Stout. We were there just for the beer so I can't comment on the food. I've had the turkey burger in the past and it was decent. The service was efficient. Woot. The parking situation kind of sucks. The highlight? The men wear kilts (never mind that kilts are a Scottish thing and this place claims to be an "Irish" pub). Since the days of my misspent youth during which I developed a crush on a muumuu wearing Jon Fishman, I have adored a man who is manly enough to wear a skirt. And the men of The Dingle House do not disappoint. In summation, if you would like to scream at your companions while ogling men in kilts, The Dingle House is your kind of pub. Meanwhile, you can find me at The Village Tavern. Now, there's a bar.

Good bar, but the food is just very ok. We come here for lunch frequently but I have not yet had anything from the menu that is fantastic. It is a good place for a large group for dinner because it has a good variety on its menu and there is a good room off to the side for a group. Outside seating in the summer is good.

We went here for drinks after a Miami icehockey game and it was ok. But not necessarily a place I would seek out. The music was very loud, but we found a table right at the back where we could actually understand each other. My friends had a burger and onion rings and they liked it. I had a strongbow cider, can't do anything wrong with that. So all in all an ok place but nothing I was particularly excited about.

As much as I feel like I should like the Dingle House, I just can't force myself to do it. Honestly, I wasn't even sure about giving this place three stars. Let me explain why, first the good, then the bad. On the good side, the Dingle House is a nice break from the normal in what is a very much suburban, cookie cutter, area, which is the main reason I am giving it three stars instead of two. The decor is very nice, there is an excellent beer selection, and there are even a few really cute waitresses who work here that will inevitably catch your eye, if you're of the male gender that is. I can easily see why this is a good place for people who live in West Chester to meet up with friends and have a few drinks. Now, let me explain what keeps me from truly liking the Dingle House any more than I do. First, this place is entirely too expensive. I guess if you make the amount of money most people who live in West Chester do, that isn't a big deal, but I don't. I am a college kid and I work a retail job. To me, having a few beers and an appetizer and having a $30 bill seems ridiculous. Secondly, the food is alright, but it is nothing to write home about. Their fish sandwich is alright, but it is far from being the best I have ever had. Also, their take on cheese sticks look like toes, and that just freaked me out. In the end, the Dingle House isn't the worst place you could meet up with friends with a few drinks on the north side of town, but is definitely not the best either. If you're looking for the feel of a pub that offers excellent beer, I would recommend checking out the Cock & Bull a few miles south in Glendale. The food is better, cheaper, and on some nights you can even keep your glass.

I moved to the Cincinnati area over a year ago, and am still discovering restaurants. I happened upon the Dingle House while searching for information on the Union Centre Food & Music festival that took place earlier this month, and decided to try it out before seeing a band with some friends. The atmosphere is very welcoming and warm. Service was a little slow, but it was Saturday night and our waitress was running her tail off and was very good to us! Great variety of food, decent prices. I had the turkey burger with sweet potato fries, and both were excellent. Paired it with a beer flight (5 beer samples for $8 - not bad at all) from their excellent draft selection of both familiar and want-to-try beers (their bottled selection was also nice). I'm hoping to go back with my family, so we'll see how "kid-friendly" they are at a later time. But I'm definitely going back!! Oh, and the men wear kilts.

The Dingle House pub is very good. I like their food and the outdoor dining area. My only complaint is it gets pretty loud when there are alot of people inside. Poor acoustics.

I can honestly say I wasn't super impressed with this place. I had dinner with work buddies on a road trip and the atmosphere was close but not really what I thought of as an Irish pub. I had the open faced meatloaf sandwich and it was pretty good but not as flavorful as I thought it would be. They do grill the meatloaf which I thought was interesting, but the wedge fries weren't very crispy and I wasn't impressed with the cole slaw. The wait staff all wear 'kilts' which seems to be the thing as of late, again a thing I don't understand in an Irish pub since they originate from Scotland.. I would probably come back here, but i wouldn't go out of my way to do so..

I went with a group of friends to the Dingle House for our monthly get-together. I had never been before, and didn't really know what to expect. Have to say, as an urbanphile who cringes about the sameness of West Chester, this place stands out. The warm interior along with the abundance of TVs showing sports really make this a nice place to eat, drink, and hang. There was a live acoustical band playing, which also added to the ambience of the place. They were celebrating their third anniversary here, and to commemorate, all the pints of draft beer were $3, and menu items were 30% off. I had a couple different ones, and there was a wide selection of craft beers and imports. There's also a great selection of bottles. I ordered the Reuben with the potato wedges, $8.99 (menu price), and was pleased with the taste, and the sauce. There's a great selection of burgers, sandwiches, entrees, appetizers, and other pub-style food like fish & chips. Noting that our group generally avoids chain restaurants (at least national chains)- I'd say the Dingle House was definitely worth trying.

Went back there after a long absence. This time went with The Hoff and my dad, who was visiting from NJ. This place gets four stars for its amazing draught beer offerings. I would come here for the Young's Chocolate Double Stoudt, or is that Double Chocolate Stoudt? Whatever. It's delicious! The Guiness on tap is also great. The fish and chips were good as well. We ate outdoors, which is nice. The view isn't great - just some office buildings, including the relocated AK Steel Headquarters - but at least it's fresh air, and it's away from the road, so you don't inhale too many fumes.

The atmosphere is good and the outdoor seating overlooks the West Chester Pavillion, which is very nice. The food is what you'd expect and good. They have pretty good appetizers like, fried pickles, spinach and artichoke dip and crab cakes. Crab cakes? Yes, they are actually one of the best places for crab cakes to me. Their Wedge Salad is good too..assuming they don't burn the bacon. The Irish Stew and Shepherds Pie are pretty good, but my preference is the Irish Stew. The pulled pork sandwich is surprisingly good considering it's not supposed to be a specialty at an Irish Pub and it comes with a very nice pasta salad. Overall I am very happy with the service, but there is one waitress that leaves me feeling raw. I ordered the turkey burger, which came out burnt. It was obvious by looking at it, but I took a bite anyway. Nope, not gonna go down! So, I asked the waitress to take it back and bring a new one. She proceeded to come back out and started pushing me about the issue. 'Did I actually try it?' she asked! Wow, then went on more about the cooking process of a turkey burger, blah blah blah. Other places can serve a turkey burger without burning it...work it out. I got the feeling it was the chef/cook pushing the issue with her and she felt the need to bring it my way...well, don't. I have been back only once since then and that waitress was the one who served us. It went ok. I didn't pay attention to her name, but if we ever go to negative town again, I'll be sure to find out.

Good place. Nice atmosphere, but can be a little loud. We had the Kildare meatloaf, which was good. Decent deserts. And of course a good selection of beer on tap and bottled beer. Prices were good. 1 Smithwicks, 2 meatloafs, 2 deserts = $40. Decent.

Wonderful draft beer selection. There are so many and they are so good. The food we had (during lent) was excellent. This fish and chips were so big my husband and I had to split a plate. The chips could have been crispier, they were a bit soggy. We also had a salad, very delicious and the fried oysters on a half shell, excellent. The only complaint is that another group was seated before us because they knew the waiter in that section. I called them out on it and they did their best to seat us where we wanted next. I do admit however I'm anal about where I sit in a restaurant. The first place they tried to seat us was some shoddy table by the kitchen door with wobbly seats. No thanks!

We stopped at the Dingle House for a post-wedding celebration. It was accommodating to our large group of people. The selection of beer was great. I didn't have any food but it looked good...pricey, but good. It was a solid hang out with a nice interior and helpful and fun wait staff.

I met my friend here for happy hour. It started out as average, and ending horribly. They do have a nice draft beer selection, although it is a little pricey ($6 pints at happy hour?). We had fried pickles, she had a salad, I had a sandwich - all average. The bartender was nice, but not the most attentive. It may have been because the place is so extremely loud (it was NOT crowded), that she couldn't hear us asking for things. We were fine with the evening until we got our checks. We really just wanted to see each other and talk, which we were able to do most of the time (when we could hear each other), so the restaurant we were at didn't really matter. We noticed that we got charged for an extra round of drinks. Not a big deal. 1 bartender, loud bar... it happens. Even with taking the $4 drink off of each of our bills, we were each going to be spending ~$40+tip. So, we told the bartender thinking it would be no big deal. We were WRONG. She argued with us telling us that she was pretty sure we had the extra round. The way she was talking to us, she was basically accusing us of lying to get $4 taken off of our bill. So, she said she didn't believe us but would have the manager take it off. 15 minutes later, the manager came over to us - we were totally done at this point and just sitting, waiting. I would've rather just paid for the extra drink than to take so much time out of my night to argue about it. Very accusatory, he's asking us about this discrepancy. Can we describe what happened and tell him how we know we didn't have the extra drink, that the bartender is one of his best employees (we never said she wasn't, just that we got charged for an extra drink). We are talking about $4 on a $40+ bill! In the end, he took the drink off and we still left a good tip. I would NOT go back.

The food is sub par. I had a roast beef sandwich, the quality was poor. The French fries were cooked in old oil and had a greasy old taste! The price for this dish was high, considering the quality of ingredients used. Our other dish was Cajun Gumbo, to thick, no rice, no flavor! It came with a turkey wrap with bacon bits. I would never go back!

As I will begin my reviews of most places in West Chester, it's West Chester. Keep your expectations low, and you won't be disappointed. Sometimes, you'll even be pleasantly surprised. If you are a big beer fan, like my fiance, this place is fantastic. They have a great selection on tap and they also have a wide variety of bottles. They win me over with their cider options and Lindeman's Framboise. As for food, they have a pretty solid menu. Fish and chips are about average, but they have a really great appetizer selection. My biggest complaint about The Dingle House is that sometimes the service can be a little less than desirable. I stopped in with a few friends after a rousing night of laser tag (yes, I am a 12 year old). It was later at night, but before the crowds hit and my fiance and I were the only ones to order an alcoholic beverage. Everyone else stuck to water or soda, and there were a few apps ordered. That night the Leinenkugel girls were there passing out samples and one of the girls accidentally spilled a beer all over our table and my friend. When we asked our waitress for some extra napkins, she barely acknowledged us and, after waiting ten minutes, we just went up the bar to get our own. After a few more rude incidents and witnessing her being extremely nice to the table of older gentlemen next to us (who happened to be ordering lots and lots of drinks), my friend went to speak to the manager. The manager ended up comping our entire check, which was not necessary, but we weren't going to complain. We hurried up and scurried out before anything else could happen, and I witnessed the waitress run to the window and glare at us as we walked to our cars. Other than that, it's not a bad little place and it actually gets quite lively on a Friday or Saturday night!

We stopped by the Dingle House in the middle of a Saturday afternoon after a little shopping to enjoy cold beverages in a pub atmosphere. The place was fairly quiet mid-afternoon, but I know from past experience that we were enjoying the calm before the Saturday night storm. Many patrons lined the bar, but we usually escape to a table for a little more privacy. I would recommend the dining area to the right of the door, as it is a bit more quaint especially next to the fireplace. There's TVs aplenty if want to catch up on the latest scores. The draft beer list is impressive and I would recommend the 5 beer sampler where you can discover new favorites 5 ounces at a time. We have tried several of the appetizers and the fried pickles are our favorite. The servers are always cheerful and attentive. If you are looking for a true pub environment, you can't go wrong dropping by the Dingle House.

Nothing on the menu will surprise you, but the food is good and the beer selection is great. Comfortable atmosphere, which seems to pick up during the weekends. I've been a few times, the last was a Saturday evening with my wife and kids. The live music was a plus, and the service was very good. Overall a good place to hang with friends, grab a few cold ones, and enjoy some decent pub grub in the Westchester area.

We go here mainly for the beer selection. The food is ok - not what you would expect for the prices. You have to be in the mood to handle the noise level.

The food is tasty (although a bit overpriced) and the atmosphere is comfortable and seemingly authentic. The atmosphere could easily be the biggest disappointment as well. It feels a bit trendy and overdone. Service is always consistent and friendly and the outdoor seating is a nice option. The beer selection is the obvious strong point here, but it is also frustrating to have an ever-changing list that isn't represented in the menu. Overall, it can be a fun place to get good food and beer, but your best bet is to shoot for a weeknight when it's quieter.

A friend invited folks to hang out at Dingle House for his birthday. In my opinion, the place is not conducive to just hanging outv - it's really a restaurant with a bar. They have a good variety of beer for us beer snobs. But the service SUCKED! I was ordering for myself and three others. I told him what I wanted and then the others (they all ordered Smithwicks, so that was easy). He came back with the 3 Smithwicks and then said, "what can I get you?" like he had never seen me before. Duh! The servers, clad in plaid (kilts), rarely smiled. Since there were many of us there for this "celebration" we all sat at separate tables and the birthday boy hopped from one table to the next. I didn't order any food, but from the poor service and the location in the middle or a desolate office complex, I don't think I'll be returning on my own freewill.

So, I've been meaning to write this review for quite a while... The Dingle House is the kind of place that you can always rely on to be a decent time. Of course, a key part of this is the company you keep :) The following is a list of things that keeps me coming back time and again, in descending order: 1) Ambiance. The place is nicely appointed and has a great looking pub-style bar! There are a few other pub-type places in the region and it's one of the nicest. There's plenty of natural light from windows and there are just enough flat screen televisions. The interior designer did a great job in my opinion. 2) The food is traditional pub-fare, but there are also options from other cuisines as well, such as chicken parmesan. Having been born and raised by my father who's a Brit and also great chef, I have come to appreciate British/Irish fare for what it is when done properly. Don't get me wrong, this is not the best food I've had -- the reason I give this place a 4/5 is because of a combination of factors delineated in this list. One should try the fish and chips, and bangers an mash. I don't eat beef, can't comment on the shepherd's pie (which should be completely made of lamb to be authentic) and the Irish stew, but have heard they are decent. I am particularly a fan of the wings! Some thing you should know about me: buffalo wings are like crack to me. I'm also very particular about how I like them cooked and can be quite critical of the quality, especially of a chain that tends to serve tiny wings. Dingle House doesn't mess around. Their wings are BIG and MEATY and the hot variety are pretty good! Give 'em a try and let me know what you think. Finally, the chips are more like potato wedges... come on, they should serve proper chips (fries) if they are going to call themselves an authentic pub. In all, the food is one reason I keep coming back. 3) The draught beer selection is decent. They have beers from around the world and also some micro brews -- I'd estimate about 20 on tap -- which is not bad for a place this size. They have the pub favorites such as Bass, Harp, Boddington's, Guinness and Smithwick's, and also some regionals like Bell's and Great Lakes, to name a few. A cold 16oz Pint is what you can expect! 4) Since this place is never packed when I go, I usually get timely service without any errors in my order. The waitresses wear kilts and knee high stockings, if you're into that sort of thing. I do remember on some visits that the place is understaffed. Hopefully, this resolves once business picks up and is more steady. The waitstaff does get flustered during these occasions and perhaps just letting customers know that they are doing the best they can would be the best way of handling the situation, just so no one gets the wrong idea. 5) I love the midwest. The prices here are reasonable and if you go on days when they have specials, it's a great deal! $3 for a pint of good imported/seasonal beer cannot be beat! Sundays are my favorite: $9.95 traditional pub fare (fish and chips, bangers and mash, etc) $3 for all pints and 30 cents per wing. (as of 7/6/2011) So that's how I feel about the place, and as a resident of West Chester, you'd be hard pressed to find a place with the combination of benefits that I noted above. Check it out and maybe I'll see you there!

The Dingle House is an Irish pub located in West Chester, that is as close to authentic as possible in a newly constructed facility. I ate here on their first day open, and the food, service and atmosphere was quite good considering it was their first lunch for the public. They have an immense bar that was imported from Ireland that looks awesome. They have a smart looking wait staff decked out in kilts, who were polite and attentive. The place is bigger than it looks, with lots of room inside. The food was quite good. Our party had the rueben, the fish and chips, and a turkey burger--all tasty and just the right size portions. The Dingle House will become another great lunchtime option for West Chester, as well as a great after work drinking spot. Recommended.

An extensive draft beer selection. The bar is beautiful-- all carved wood. The Irish theme is kept up with the interior, but is thrown off a bit by the Scottish kilts. I really enjoyed the Bangers and Mash, but overall the menu selection is limited. Come here for a drink definitely, but if you're looking for a place to eat, this would not be the place.

I've had better I've had worse. I ordered the lobster ravioli here and it was actually pretty decent. For bar food. The service was so so. The beer selection was not bad but not great. Overall I gave this review a 3 star because that's what it is average.

Fish n chips. The chips were seasoned with awesome (can't remember the spices) so this made it stand out compared to fish n chips I typically order at other pubs. Great music for the scene and generally happy people. Can't argue with it.

The food was pretty good and I really like the beer selection but the prices are too high for the beer. I wouldn't mind too much if I knew how much it was before ordering but it is never good to be surprised by $7 beer.

Good food, great beer! There are a lot of nearby businesses and this seems to be a favorite place for an after work drink, so if you don't favor a crowd I would avoid between 5 and 7 pm on weekdays. This is a great place to go on a Sunday afternoon (kid friendly).

Date night with my wife to Dingle House to eat for the first time, we'd been there before for drinks but never to eat so thought we'd give it a try. Turned out to be a bad idea! I had open faced meatloaf sandwich that was dried out and crusty and was on a stale piece of bread. I asked for extra sauce so that I could eat it and was then charged extra for it (very TACKY!). Even the potato wedges were poorly made (undercooked and soggy). My wife ordered a salad with grilled chicken and asparagus, etc. She was not happy with it since it ended up mainly lettuce and few other ingredients. Service was also below average....Had a beer that I polished off before the meal arrived and she never offered to bring another. Water glasses also remained empty after finishing it another thing that servers should be trained to notice. In the end was glad to leave and have after dinner drinks at another establishment

I had lunch at the Dingle House for the first time. Overall, my wife and I had a good experience. We didn't get there until 2pm, so the place was, rightfully so, a bit empty. It has all the appearances of a proper Americanized Irish pub and restaurant. The service was pleasant and attentive. Both my wife and I enjoyed are food (fish and chips for me and a chicken caesar wrap for her). I'm not a beer drinker, but I was surprized to see so many offerings available. The big knock on the Dingle House (other than I keep wanting to call it the Dingle Berry House because sometimes I think like a 7 year old) is that they serve Pepsi products and not Coke products. How can any bar not offer Coke products? Who ever orders a Bacardi & Pepsi or a Captain and Pepsi?

I finally made it to Dingle House. I tried back in March, but I had a group of 25 & was told it would be at least a 2.5 hour wait. This time it was a smaller group and we headed there right after church for dinner. I was excited to see my favorite beer Hoegaarden on the menu, but not so impressed with the food menu. There isn't much to choose from, but everyone loved their food. I chose the Celtic Chicken Salad (though minus about half of what it usually comes with) & I thought it was great. I had a bite of the Irish Egg Roll & while I usually don't like egg rolls, it was pretty good.

The food is surprisingly good! Fried pickles are a must try!

Loved the Dingle House. Having recently been in County Kerry, Ireland and on the Dingle Penisula where we had many excellent meals, we wondered how the Dingle House would compare. In our opinion, it was very successful. The food was great with fresh ingredients. From the clam chowder to the ravioli, everything was terrific. We look forward to returning.

While the food at the Dingle House was OK, the service was absolutely abysmal!!! My friend was sitting (not rocking or leaning back, SITTING) in a chair and it completely collapsed underneath him. One would expect that the waitress would come over and check to see if he was OK, apologize and get him a new chair but NO none of this happened. Instead, she laughed and joked that "this happens all the time." Chairs should not be breaking underneath customers "all the time," what if he had actually hurt himself...what if the chair had broken on an old lady or pregnant woman? I was upset so I decided to go and talk to the manager. He was NO help. Once again, no apology, no admitting fault, instead he blamed the "drunk Irish men" who built the chairs. I stood there in shock, I have never in my life seen such terrible service. I've worked in several restaurants and this would never ever ever have been acceptable behavior. The manager finally realized that he probably should do SOMETHING, so he offered to bring us a round of shots. I didn't care about the shots, I wanted him to apologize to my friend. The manager came by with shots and once again joked around...no apology. I'm not sure if the Dingle House was just afraid that by apologizing they would be admitting fault or something but their attitude and service was absolutely unacceptable. I will never ever go to this restaurant again and I would advise that no one else go there either.
